ABOUT

I'm twenty-two year old artist based in Manchester who works predominantly with photography. Moving from Dublin in my early teens to Stockholm and then to Manchester for university has altered my perception of what I considers the place of home to be. Working with both film and digital photography has enabled Saoirse to create autobiographical work about the relationships between myself, the people around me and our spaces. This creates largely narrative focused images that attempt to tell my own story.  Photography is the medium in which I can connect and process my thoughts, making the images very personal. On the other hand, I'm also inspired constantly by fashion's connection to identity and ones sense of self influencing her artistic narrative and visual storytelling. I find the switch and sometimes combination of both routes of photography quite refreshing and keeps my work current and informed.
